I love hexagon quilts so when I was thinking about a wedding gift for the Larsons I thought this was the perfect time to try out an idea I'd had in my head. I'm not sure there is a specific inspiration point for it but rather a mixture of things I know she loves.
The first thing that came to mind was the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume I've seen on her vanity. Also, she loves Orla Kiely and this wallpaper design stuck with me. I picked similar colors and got to work. It wasn't until I was halfway through that I saw it for the first time. Eggs. On a skillet. It's like one of those pictures where you see two different images but you go back and forth in seeing them. Pretend you see the daisies, okay!
Elsie and Jeremy loved it and I'm so thankful it was well-received! It fits their queen size bed and I've been told it's the inspiration for their new bedroom. I'm hoping it'll be special to them for many years to come as a reminder of this beautiful time in their lives together. Also, I'm hoping it doesn't make them hungry. Breakfast in bed? Ha!
The darling Janae Hardy took these photos in our backyard. I love them.
P.S. I am not currently giving out a pattern or instructions because the quilt is also being used as a project in our book pitch. I'm sure some of you can figure it out on your own but thanks for understanding why I can't share specifics.
