What I Wore: Downtown Chicago

So much fun with Elsie, Jeremy, Emma, and Chris yesterday!

I'm wearing: Vintage dress, thrifted. Handmade skirt, repurposed from a vintage dress. Vintage moccasins, thrifted. Belt, thrifted. Key necklace, Bueno Bueno. Sunglasses, F21.

This whole skirt over a dress idea has been a fun way to repurpose some items in my wardrobe without changing them permanently. I like the striped dress under my skirt but it works really well as a top and slip combo. It was great for a day of walking around the windy city!

We're headed home today! I can't wait to hug my family and give Brett a well deserved day off when I get home. He's been so gracious to let me take a few days off of being a mama and we all know it's no small thing to take care of two little ones on your own for more than a few hours!

Here's hoping we get to stop at at least ONE of the many flea markets we saw on the way up!

That's a great idea! I had never thought of putting a skirt over a dress to change things up. If only I had a few dresses to do that with...LOL!

I just found a navy and white striped sheet at the thrifts yesterday, and I love how it looks as a top! Going on my to sew list!

Great pictures from Chicago, they make me excited to head there next month! I love how you repurposed your dress, the stripes look like a sweet petticoat underneath your skirt, and those moccasins look so comfy!
