I found this Instax of Ruby while I was digging through my stash last weekend. I spent a few more hours on that little red cape than I'd care to admit but it turned out to be one of the sweetest photos of our little (almost) one year old. One of the reasons I blog is to have a place to recount stories because when I went back to my old blog to read this post, I'd already forgotten all of the ways it went wrong last year.
I asked Sebastian what he wanted to be for Halloween this year and his first answer was a ghost. I told him we could do better than that and planted Luke Skywalker in his mind because I'm all for a good Star Wars family theme. A few days later I asked him again and he said Spiderman but I reminded him that's what he was last year and he'd grown out of that muscly costume. He could do better than that.
Yesterday, I asked him again and he told me he wanted to be Yoda. I can do Yoda. I started planning our costumes in my mind with Ruby being R2-D2, Brett being Harrison Ford's character (what...he was hot), and me being Princess Leia, of course.
Then I asked Ruby what she wanted to be for Halloween and she said, "Melmo!"
Oh, brother.
xo,
Rachel
