Today we shopped our little hearts out. I haven't had this kind of trip in years! We parked downtown and hit up some favorites including Anthropologie, J. Crew, Urban Outfitters, H&M, the new TopShop, Sprinkles cupcakes, Free People, American Apparel and a few little vintage stores. My favorite parts, other than getting to spend a little bit of craft fair money, was getting inspired by the displays!
Free People wins best window display of the day.
We met a sweet blog reader that worked at Sprinkles and had some of the most delicious cupcakes ever.
We walked past this beautiful old church and I loved the story this scene told. So many beautiful layers in this city.
Anthropologie was fun. I bought my winter coat and might start wearing it as soon as it dips below 70 because IT'S THAT PRETTY.
The new TopShop opened up only a few days ago so it was so fun to explore all three stories. Talk about being overwhelmed with pretty things! The shoe section alone was worth the trip.
We had Flaco Taco for lunch and Cumin for dinner but have plans to hit up Molly's Cupcakes before we head home in the morning. After seeing all we saw (and we hardly covered the basics) I know this won't be my last trip to Chicago. I'd love to come back with Brett and the kids someday and explore Millenium Park and the Navy Pier (amongst other things).
Thank you for all of your great suggestions yesterday. I'll be sure to pass those along to anyone I know headed this way soon.
More Chicago posts all week!

Rachel

I live in the UK and we have topshops in abundance, which is great but...not so much for my wallet! Their shoe section has probably gained a huge part of my life's money, and I almost never have an opportunity to even wear the shoes I buy...but they look so pretty in my wardrobe...

These photos are really awesome! I especially love the one of the church. I would have really loved going out to Chicago for Renegade but it just wasn't possible given where I live. Thanks for letting me go there vicariously through you!

Oh man, what a fun trip! I don't know what I'd do if all three of you walked into my work place unexpected...that would be so fun! Maybe next time you visit Ballard :)
