Do I look as hot as I felt? The weather during Renegade was mostly great but being outside all day can leave a girl feeling less than fresh. I probably should've left those tights back at the hotel! It cooled off as soon as the sun went down, though, so I was thankful I'd at least brought along a cardigan and scarf. That huge bag came in handy.
Wearing: Vintage dress from Flour Clothing. Handmade hair accessory, Elsie. Vintage necklace, thrifted. Tights and wedges, Target. Bag, Urban Outfitters.
Sunday warmed up a bit more so I went with something sleeveless and ditched the tights. There were so many beautiful tattoos on display! I would've loved to collect photos of each one.
I'm wearing: Dress as top, Target. Vintage skirt, thrifted. Suede flats, thrifted. Velvet turban, Red Velvet. Sunglasses, F21. Necklace, purchased in Seattle.
One of my favorite things about sitting in a booth at a show is people watching and there were so many beautiful people that drifted past our little space on the street. I feel so refreshed and inspired after two days of hanging out in this environment. It reminds me so much of our time in Seattle. Big city life isn't really for me but I love to get a taste every now and then.
Have you ever been to Chicago? Any great shops or restaurants we should check out before we head home?
xo,
Rachel

Chicago Diner on Halsted has excellent veggie food and or Joy's on Broadway has excellent noodles and thai.
Chicago has so much great food though, you really can't go wrong. Makes me miss living in Chicago so much!

The Art Institute is not to be missed! Even if you only have an hour or two, you won't regret it.

I totes made the same mistake and wore a nice warm, wooly cardigan. It was nice after the sun went down though :)
PS. I saw you at the Red Velvet booth, but was too shy to say "hi". It's so neat/funny to see familiar blog faces in person! you looked great!

I live in Chicago. I visited the Red Velvet booth at Renegade yesterday but you must have been wandering around the fair because you weren't there! I would recommend checking out Beatnix. They have a seriously cool basement full of some crazyyyy vintage clothing. Don't be scared off by the top floor of the store, the basement full of vintage is completely worth it!

I've always wanted to go to a Renegade fair it looks like so much fun! You should check out Navy Pier! We always have to visit when we go to Chicago. It's just fun to walk around and they have really awesome boat rides and a ferris wheel and restaurants right on the lake! Anyways, I love your outfits! (:

my hubby & i are BIG fans of the 2 rosebud restaurants that we've been to so far. great italian food. otherwise, walk, walk, walk. ;)

If you're staying down town, you should go to Quartino's. Italian food on small plates - delicious. If you're in the mood for a sandwich in Logan Square - Belly Shack. Venturing north? Bad Apple in Lincoln Square - great beers and amazing burgers, the only place in Chicago that you can get poutine!

If you have time, before 4 o'clock, Hot Dougs has the most interestingly delicious hot dogs in town, be prepared to wait though, they have "duck fries," fries cooked in duck fat, seriously delicious!
The Navy Pier is a must tourist attraction!
Uncle Fun's is fun to find little knickknacks and quirky gifts for kids, it's not to far from Renegade Handmade.
Best Thai food http://www.yelp.com/biz/sticky-rice-chicago#query:Thai%20Food
It's called Sticky Rice! Amazing food, I couldn't stop eating! I still have dreams of their mango sticky rice!
I love Chicago, we went for our 10 anniversary, and I can't wait to go back!

Just a few weeks ago, we had a little Chicago adventure. (Chronicled in part here: http://laurakateiscrafty.blogspot.com/2011/08/american-adventures-part-5-day-1.html). I recommend Pizano's on State Street. And, while I haven't been in years, Ed Debevic's is great for kitschy fun!

I love all of your outfits, lady! But I am in hardcore LOVE with that sweet little pink lacy number. And the purple tights.
Totally made my day!
Thanks, lady!

I love all your outfits, but my fave is the last one. I love those colors together. Your hair looks cute too in all the pictures.

It was awesome seeing you guys in your booth on Saturday! Your right that sun was shinning and it was hot! You guys should go to Aloha eats and then get a cupcake from Molly's next store. If you are hot dog fans then Hot Doug's or Wiener circle is a must!

I wore tights too! Way steamy!
Your booth was so cute! I'm bummed I missed ya!

Looks like you had a really great time. I was in Chicago this past April. Our Band auditioned for the X-Factor in Pittsburgh, Pa where we are all from. We were chosen over 150 acts to go on to Chicago to Audition in front of 10,000 people at the Sears Center Arena. The Trip was all expenses paid. While there, we had the famous deep dish Chicago pizza at one restaurant. At another place we had the famous Chicago Dog and stood in front of Wrigley Field to get pictures. We had a blast in Chicago!!!! Can not wait to go back there sometime♥

I love the color combos in both of these outfits! Chicago is such a great city - I was hoping to make it up this weekend, but ended up having other plans. I'm glad you had a good time!

Shoot, I would have gone if I weren't in the middle of moving AWAY from Chicago :( But you look great as always! In Chicago, if you eat, eat pizza. If you eat pizza, eat Lou Malnati's. You're welcome in advance :)
