Sometimes, I feel like I'll always remember how small she is right now and then I look back at photos from six months ago and see the changes in her face, how much longer her legs are now, and realize...her hair really is growing!
Sometimes, it takes a sweet little outfit, great light in the living room, and lots of patience until she's still long enough to capture the lines of her little hands and the thickness of those lashes.
"No more pictures, Mama!"
Sometimes, I can imagine her a few years from now with corkscrew curls (or maybe it'll end up straight and sweet) and able to tell me detailed stories about her elaborate drawings.
Ruby's wearing: Shirt, Target. Vintage smock c/o Red Velvet. Pants, Wal-Mart.
Sometimes, I want her to stay this size forever until I imagine how much better it's going to get every year.
I can't wait, baby girl!

She is so precious. That is such a fun age, cherish each and every moment. But, all the ages are such a treat and such joy.

What a darling little lady Ruby is! She is getting so big, and her hair really is starting to come in well! I remember when you announced that you were pregnant with her! Wow! Time really goes by fast! XO

I have this thought all the time! My son is 14 months and every month I have thought to myself, "this is the best age, I wish he could stay this way forever" and then it just keeps getting better. I imagine that stops somewhere around the pre-teen years :) She's the cutest!

I am so with you. This post made me cry because my daughter, 22 months, started crawling out of the crib last week and so last night was her first night in a toddler bed. It took me a week to get myself ready for the transition, and I realized that this is the first of many things that she is ready for before I am ready for her to be. The night went off without a hitch, she is getting so big yet is still so small. It does get better doesn't it? Its hard to imagine just yet.

This post is really amazing..it describes almost every feeling a Mum can have while watching her child or children grow...I am a Mum too to a 16 month old girl name Stella and she is also now growing her hair like Ruby and amazes me almost every day...You described my feeling exactly....Thank you :)

I thought the same way. "I will always remember when my babies were just little armfuls of cuddles." But I can barely even remember my boys being little and they are 15 months. ha. Kira is so grown up. Shes almost 4 going on 16, seriously. Every now and then I look at pictures of them as little babies just to make sure they were really that small once. Great Pictures!! Lovely Ruby!

it's goes so fast! We have our computer screen saver set to randomly rotate through all our pictures - at least once a day someone says 'oh look how little she is"

How bittersweet! My daughter is the same age, and she will be our only child. I am so sad yet I am so proud. It's so hard to hold on and let go at the same time. Two is such a wonderful age!!

Such a sweet post :) I watched my niece from the time she was born until she was 3 (then her mother moved with her to another state :( ), and it was the sweetest most amazing thing. Watching her grow and learn makes me so excited to have my own kids some day

I love the picture of her back while she is playing with your lovely suitcases.
I know what you mean with children growing. I wish that my son would stay bit longer a small boy. But he is growing and growing and nothing can stop it. It is different with my daughter though. She is older than my son and with each year she is becoming more of a lady. It is a pleasure to see that. But I would love to have a baby!

Oh, Rach - the one of her squatting in front of the suitcases is my very most favorite!
She's getting so big. And yes, her hair IS growing!

You should probably frame the darling photo of Ruby in front of the suitcase with her back to the camera :)
