This weekend was spent working a bit more in the backyard getting it prepared for round two of family visiting. Brett mowed, I spray-painted, and the kids enjoyed the hammock. Oh yeah, the hammock! I made it as one of tutorials for my e-course Style Your Space last year but had no place to hang it as our backyard was devoid of trees and there was no way I was puttying holes that big in our rental. Fast forward a year and this girl and this girl start posting hammock pictures and I suddenly remember we have one!
I spent a good thirty minutes digging through boxes in the basement, the garage, and all the closets until I found it tucked in it's bag at the bottom of my lockers. A likely place for a hammock. I tied it up with my stellar knot making skills (thanks YouTube) to the old clothes line that now sports a thriving grape vine and then had to plead for my turn to lie down in it. Sebastian only came in for lunch and then again when our family from Missouri arrived.
Those chairs still need wood bases and cushions and some work needs to be finished in our sunflower bed and then I'll consider it done until another project strikes my fancy. Sweet pea teepee, anyone?
I am considerably stopped up in the blog post department as I have yet to blog our 10th anniversary, Sebastian's birthday, our time with my family last week, and an outfit post or two but we've enjoyed the time together and caught up in other things.
I hope you had a lovely weekend!
