I made a sign for Sebastian to color for Brett and when he was done he dictated another message for his daddy.
He'd been told by Brett that they were going to see the Transformer 3 movie together the afternoon after he came home from Army camp (LDAC) and I feel like it's all Sebastian has talked about for a month. Brett asked Sebastian in one of his postcards if he wanted to bring one of his toy Transformers with him to the movie. Apparently, he'd been thinking about it long and hard.
Brett's flight didn't get in until 11:45 p.m. but getting picked up at the airport is always so much more exciting than having to take a cab home. I woke the kids up after hanging our signs, got them loaded and drove to meet Brett.
I saw his plane landing as we were pulling into the airport and then got the text that they had landed as I was unloading the kids.
As soon as we got inside that airport we spotted him at the other end and the rest was pure happiness.
Sebastian was half asleep until he spotted Brett and then ran to him. I'm so thankful I didn't forget my camera this time.
She's perfected 'Daddy' since he's been gone, much to his surprise!
I got a hug and a few kisses in there somewhere, too!
Sebastian told Brett how much he missed him as we were getting into the car and Ruby kept trying to sign and say, "I love you", back to him. Those were such sweet moments because there was no prompting. Just straight from their tender little hearts.
Sebastian got to see his Transformer movie with his daddy this afternoon and had to wake Brett up at one point during the 2.5 hours they sat there. We're all pretty tired but so glad to be back together and eager to reconnect as a family.
Thank you for all of your excitement and encouragement throughout the last month. It's kept me company and made this feel less hard.
You guys are the best!

Rachel
Leigh-Ann made me a GIF of these running photos. Wasn't that sweet! I love it.
