This may be my favorite DIY of the year. It's a pretty simple idea and one that anyone with an electric drill and a little patience can tackle. I love it because it's practical and fits within our aesthetic of vintage/industrial and mixes nicely with all of our granny chic florals. It's versatile enough for almost any room in our house and will probably still be around when Sebastian heads off to college and wants to take it with him.
Head over to A Beautiful Mess to get the full supply list and tutorial.

I love it. And everytime I see that embroidery I have pangs of jealousy. I was looking at metal crates at an antique mall on Saturday but they seemed expensive at $25 each. Once again I am convinced I need to take a roadtrip to the Midwest with a giant truck/trailer and stop at every single flea market/antique mall/thrift store I can find. I could probably fill my whole house with a two week roadtrip!

truly Rachel this one is jaw droppingly brilliant - you have been my fav blog for some time now so I really shouldn't be surprised but this tutorial just about surpassed my thrill of finding a vintage record cabinet with hairpin legs and all for $7 last week...it's truly amazing, nice job!

you're so rad - 1. because you have an amazing eye for grouping delicious stuff together and 2.because you're not afraid to use a drill :)

I love this so much!!! IT seems pretty easy (maybe). I'm always looking for more storage. This could make a cool coffee table too, so many uses!

I loved that tutorial! And you're probably right about Sebastian taking it to college. Not only will it last until then, but it's super cool, so he'll most likely want to snag it. :)

Ugh, this thing is driving me CRAZY! I can't tell you how much I love it. I have a weakness for things that organize and utilize small amount of space, and this piece is AWESOME! I am definitely going to have to give this tutorial a try :))
