Note: Christmas feels like a long time ago but I spent my time over the holidays enjoying Brett being home instead of keeping up with things in this space. This is me catching up!
It was on the Advent activity calendar to build a bed fort (like the one we fashioned last year) and spend some time reading our favorite books but it was the end of a long day and my battle cries of 'stop arguing with your sister' were being drowned out by the shouts from my son. Instead we settled on the classic Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer and hunkered down with popcorn for everyone.
They were enthralled by the twinkle lights and I soaked in forty-five minutes of mostly quiet time with my kids. It was just what we all needed to turn our evening around and make a great memory.
Forts are pretty great, aren't they. Especially when they're made out of vintage sheets.
xo,
Rachel
Enchanting!

your fort is pretty darn pretty! I love the shift that can happen with kids that makes all the difference so you're able to turn it around. You're a good mom, Rachel!

Oh so magical. The memories I have of making forts are some of the sweetest I can remember from my childhood. I'm sure you and your kids will remember this fort for a long time. :)

One of the many reasons why I want a canopy bed just for this purpose lol. I use to use the dinning room chairs, blankets, and old encyclopedia books to hold blankets down and sleep in my little fort as a kid.

i think i might do this to our bed after our baby is born.
it'll be like a little nest - our own private cocoon away from the rest of the world.
ahh~~~ :)

Our forts are quite as incredible, but my husband makes blanket forts for our girls at least once a week. They love it.

Vintage sheet forts are totally the best! This one was magical....and I'm almost positive my mom has a set of your blue and green flower sheets - I remember those from when I was little!
