I'm not one to discuss politics online anymore but I do feel strongly about encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote because our actions or inactions don't just affect our own lives. I believe we have a responsibilty as free people and even more so as women to practice what so many before us have fought to secure for us.
I want to set an example for my children that no matter how much weight my vote will carry in a particular election or state, it is my responsibility to them and to myself to cast my vote. I want to teach them to ask questions and be interested, to weigh matters carefully, to see the big picture, to act in love towards those they disagree with on passionate issues, but most of all to value their freedom to choose who leads our country.
I voted early by mail here in Colorado and have a sign out in our front yard. I've made my thoughtful, informed decision and I do hope you have or will be making yours.
For more information on candidates from non-partisan sources you can visit Electful, VoteSmart, or KnowMyCandidate before polls close on Tuesday, Nov. 6th.

Note: It's my hope that we can encourage each other in our opportunity to vote rather than focus on who we are each voting for this week. Any comments shared out of meannes or ignorance will be deleted.
